The SV Times - Bringing You the Daily Gnus

People around town

by Cycl0n3 Sw0rd

Hello Mr Leman, Ben Lee suggested that I talk to you.
Hello Cyclone, call me Thomas.

Q: So why did Ben tell me to ask about your wife.
A: The other cops think it's pretty funny. My wife was one of the town burglars. I haven't quite managed to get her to give up her ways but she does give me some hints about what might be happening at the Warehouse.

Q: Do you have a big family?
A: Not that big, just 3. Our daughter Courtney and sons Ernie and Erick. This little one is Erick.

Q: But how can you balance three kids and a job?
A: Cyclone, you just do it. Twyla works nights so I take care of the kids then and she watches over them during the day.

Q: How do you like police work?
A: It's mostly good. It does have some downers, we have to take calls at all hours. But this town needs police, have you heard about the corruption in city hall?

Next we visited the home of Antonio Portobella and his girlfriend Autumn.
Q: So Antonio, what attracted you to the police.
A: A chance to do good and help the pretty ladies around town.

Q: Did it work?
A: Do you not see the beautiful Autumn? My girlfriend and the mother of my daughter Patricia.

Q: Autumn, I know you're not still delivering pizzas around town.
A: No, I've joined the newspaper too. Watch out Cyclone, I'll be after your job sometime.

Cops must get decent pay in town. This is the house that Antonio and Autumn live in.

Social Scene

Twyla Leman retired from work today. She and her coworkers had a small celebration of the event.

Why Carolina thought a Bigfoot placard was called for is a mystery.

  1. Thomas is looking mighty handsome in his "undercover?" work clothes and Erick is sooo cute. Well, Twyla isn't a criminal anymore. What's with you Carolina? Bigfoot?
I think that is the first time I've seen autumn up close. Cyclone has competition.
I thought Antonio was Don L. before I read the caption. Looks like he has certainly been helping the pretty ladies. Got himself a baby girl.

  2. Oooh, caught Dee early! Yeah!

Thomas has just been promoted to Vice squad. I guess that's what you wear. :)

I was surprised when I had Twyla retire after work and not only did she stop to cheer, but so did her co-workers. I didn't know that they did that.

Autumn is an interesting gal. She and Antonio have a genuine attraction, they'll flirt forever once they start. I hope the baby is as good looking as Hans. Antonio certainly reminds me of Don too.

  3. Hahaha, I guess the retirement 'cheering' is new for Ambitions or something. I've never seen it before, either.

Thomas! Eee! /fangirl squee. I think it's funny that he's married to a burglar, and yet is so nonchalant about it. Sims are so terribly accepting. I always thought it was really entertaining how you can ask what someone does for a living, they tell you they're the Emperor of Evil, and they just keep on talking like it's no big deal. Silly Sims!

Autumn is certainly very different. Her hair color is really unique. :)

  4. I read and commented while having my coffee and then headed for the shower. I'm back for a few minutes.
I never had one retire after work and didn't know they cheer either. I wish they would bring gift giving back. The girls could have given her presents.

I love the way the AI lets us know when they are really happy together. You know, buy paying attention to each other without us telling them to. Can't wait to see what Patricia looks like when she ages.

  5. The only time I saw the retirement cheering was when Ollie retired and the family cheered, clapped and threw confetti but that was at home. It surprised me then too.

  6. Kaleeko, I agree, it's funny when you can have a cop marry a burglar and no one in town thinks that odd. But it's also nice. Sims don't judge by your job, your sexual preferences, your skin colour...not even your basic looks.

I'll send hello to Thomas from his fan club. :)

You really can't miss Autumn's hair colour no matter how many Sims are around.

Yes Dee, I do like it when Sims are genuinely pleased with their mates. You can tell when that happens too.

  7. Autumn is a very distinctive sim, that's for sure.

I've never seen the retirement celebration. I like it.

Cyclone is doing a helluva job with his interviews. Autumn won't be taking his job anytime soon.

  8. Autumn is distinctive as are any of her descendants that end up with her hair. :)

I liked that retirement celebration too. It was unexpected, I'm going to have to have Sims retire straight after work more often.

Cyclone should be glad that his readers love the interviews. :)

Silly game, twice now it's named a girl Christopher. I had to go and rename her to Christina, I really can't cope with that one.

  9. This reader is interested in the society page as well. Who is dating who, etc. Especially the interviewer. Is Mr. Cyclone available, again?

  10. Mr Sword is still dating the former Mrs Sword. I'll have to leave Cyclone and his new housemates for a few Sim days and see if he comes to his senses. I might use master controller to make him stop dating Emma first though...but if he takes up with her a third time, so be it, he's addicted. :)

  11. I've never known about retirement party before. Ex-criminals hanging around in the dark, with one of them bringing the bigfoot placard seem a bit mysterious for me. Maybe they were up to something? :D
It's always interesting when a cop married a criminal. Good for storyline too.
When I noticed one of your comment there, I just kept smiling. In contradiction to my story, I added things that really was not happening in the game. It's just like a perfect world there (in relation to career), a sim can keep her/his job no matter who she/he is.
I thought that Antonio was Don. Maybe because of his hair and facial hair.

  12. :D It's love. It was probably love.
Lol, a sim can actually insist who he wanted to date with?? I thought that Emma would be if not with Cyclone, then with that lonely guy who always sits in the corner. Lol, I forgot his name.

  13. I like that lonely guy, is he still around in your game? My female sims always fell for him.

  14. Hey MJ, thanks for stopping by. I thought it was cool when Twyla's co workers stopped to cheer with her on her retirement. It looked funny, Marta, Ripley and Carolina all dressed in the same clothes cheering. I do have a few male crooks too but they must have missed out.

And yes, some of what you see/read was made up in my blogs. :) Careers aren't perfect here. Twallan's sp demotes some of them and has been known to fire some of them too.

Do you mean Stiles McGraw? I never play the house when it has the original 5 Sims in it so I don't know how he usually acts.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Stiles has the loner trait. It's very much his dominant trait.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thanks Chrysame. I booted Stiles from the house when I decided to use Cyclone to report on the news.

Isn't it funny how some traits really do dominant a Sims behaviour and others are barely noticeable?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Definitely, PiB. Some sims seem predisposed to behave a certain way. I find it fascinating.

  18. Mr. Cyclone? I'm enjoying my subscription. I hope we get another issue soon. :)

  19. Cyclone reports that due to an upswing in demand, the SV Times ran out of ink the other day. They have a fresh supply now and should be ready to publish soon.

  20. Thank you, Mr. Cyclone. I'm your biggest fan! And Emma is stinky.
