The SV Times - We Print All the Gnus

People around town

by Cycl0n3 Sw0rd

Part 2 of our focus on the business folk. Today we visit the Alto family. Unfortunately Nick Alto wasn't home when I arrived however Vita graciously agreed to an interview.

Q: The question that comes to mind having just come here is why is the house such a bright pink?
A: When Nick noticed this house is within view of that snobby Nancy's place, he wanted to make our house extremely noticeable.

Q: So the house is pink just to irritate Nancy Landgraab?
A: Yes, yes it is.

Q: So the rumors that Nancy and Nick are bitter rivals?
A: They aren't rumors, it's a fact.

Q: Would you like to tell me about your children? Holly and Jarod?
A: Jarod's just a typical teen. He's working after school to earn money for a car, Nick won't buy one for the boy.

Q: Why on earth not?
A: Nick fought his way out of the gutter and he thinks the boy has it too soft as it is.

Q: And Holly?
A: Don't ever mention that name again in this house. She and Nick fought for days when she became of age. She moved out and Nick has refused to acknowledge her since.

Q: So tell me what's it like being the second richest family in town?
A: Bah, don't listen to that Nancy. Just because they are old money, they think they have it all.  With the investments Nick has around town, we have more wealth.

Q: So Nick, what's your philosophy about business and business investments?
A: If we are playing chess, we are playing chess.  Concentrate on the game and stuff the interview bullcrap.

Q: You are a serious player?
A: I always play to win.

This reporter decided to stop the interview here, Mr Alto is known for his bad temper.

Tomorrow we will be switching our focus to one of the up and coming businessmen around town.

  1. Hahaha! In response to your last comment on your previous post -- isn't scheduled posting awesome? The first time I used it, I was a little confused because I didn't realize that Blogger's "time" was different than my time zone. Durrr.

Hehehe, another funny post. ^^ Darn Altos! They have more in common with the Landgraab's than they seem to think... Which is very ironic to me.

lol, I love how you portrayed Nick. "Stuff the interview bullcrap!" Hehehe. Vita is no better.

I love awful Sims, though. They're so intriguing! If all Sims were nice, happy, smart, and lucky, things would never be interesting.

I feel bad for these kids, though. I can't imagine what sort of issues they have because of what their parents put them through...

  2. Holly pretty much left home within a few days of turning young adult with one of Twallan's Fear and Loathing in the household comments. I do feel for the boy, Nick would be a ghastly dad.

I like the idea that Nick would deliberately paint his place pink cause he knows it will annoy Nancy and she'll see it every day. :) That house really is an awful colour.

I scheduled this post one day after the previous one so I did know about when it was going to happen. I've already scheduled the next post for the day after tomorrow. I think I'll try for 3 times a week for this blog - the rest will happen when they happen.

  3. Hehe, yeah, I loved the pink-house thing, too. It always baffled me that they had such an atrocious looking house, but that reasoning would make it make a bit more sense. :D

And, that's another reason I love Twallan's SP so much. Although, it tried to break up the Racket household in my game, and I denied it -- I moved them all back in together, and set it so that they can't move. I wanted them to suffer together. ^^

That seems like a pretty good updating schedule. I think it's a good idea to set limits/goals, I know for me it helps me to organize my time better and be able to prep things ahead of time.

  4. Goodness me it's quiet. I think Dee crashed for the night.

I'm so torn about the Hi Mum blog. I have an idea for something that might be interesting and certainly would be quick. But I really should start setting up a dark and disturbing tale - Sam has had it much too easy of late.

  5. Haha, it is. :) Must be gearing up to go back to work tomorrow or something. Sunday nights are always the shortest it seems like. In our part of the world, anyways.

Ooo, I look forward to what you have in Store! I really like that Blog, it cracks me up to see all the things you do with poor Sam. Can't say I'd disapprove of a dark and disturbing tale, either -- you know me. I'm evil! Bwahahaha.

Looks like a segment of my own tale of suffering is going up in 5 minutes. Woo. :D

  6. Didn't miss me, huh? :P

Jerrod is a good looking Sim. I liked Vita's voice. She sounded very pragmatic.

Nice explanation for the pink house. I never understood why it was so ugly.

  7. I did miss you too but you are usually around until later than Dee. She crashes about 1pm my time.

Vita has had a lot of years to get used to life with Nick. :)

@Kaleeko, I torture Sam Grant so you don't have to. LOL

  8. Sam seems to be having a pretty decent life in my game, so far! Don't believe he has a girlfriend, yet. Marta's gone and hooked up with the Town Thug, though. Haha. ;D

Funny you should mention Vita's voice, Chrysame. I always did like that about her. One of the few things I can actually remember about SV!

    ReplyDelete
  9. *snorts* Marta, you silly sim.

I've said in the past that a character's voice is very important to me. I've always felt that Vita had a very distinct one.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Yes, I'm still up. Not for long, I hope. I still always have my kleptos steal from Nick and Vita. It's very satisfying.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I agree, silly Marta. And naughty Sam, Kaleeko needs babies. Sam, go forth and make some.

Voices are very important. After aging Sam and Thomas backwards, when they grew up, their voices were wrong. Even if I never play that save again, they had to sound right!

Poor Marta, she never did get much klepto love while married to Sam. Although she did bring home a few bonuses from work. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  12. Give me some of your Ambien, Chrysame! *still can't sleep, either*

Actually, Marta and Sinbad (the thug) could make some decent looking babies. He's quite the jerk, though. I'll make sure to find Sam a girlfriend! He at least needs that.

That's one thing that sucks about changing a sims age in CAS... Messes with their voice. Makes me a bit sad, because it pry means that the Sims I uploaded don't sound anything like what the do in my game... Oh well.

It made me giggle to hear what your guys' Sims actually sounded like. My guesses were totally wrong!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Sinbad is cute...I can see why Marta might go for him.

I rely on voice so much, in life as well as in game. I had the weird moment in one shop of "Who's that, sounds like Thomas" and it turned out Thomas was a stylist in the shop I had entered.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Okay, now I know why the house is pink. Poor Holly or should I say lucky Holly. She never has to deal with Nick again. I like learning their reasons for stuff.

I never pay much attention to the voices unless they are really different. Sometimes I forget to set them when making or aging a sim.

I'm getting way behind on blog reading. I spent most of my evening playing since I only play on weekends and do most of the housework on weekends too. I may have to slow down with my online stuff a little for now. Lots going on at work too. I had a vacation in June and already need another one.

    ReplyDelete
  15. There had to be some reason for that silly color. :)

Holly at least escaped. The boy has yet to do that.

There for a little while, the posts and comments were thick and fast. Comments too fast for me, I hate not commenting on most of them but it seems so pointless if too many went by.

  16. Heh. When I say voice I don't mean what they actually sound like. I mean how they sound in my head, tone, diction, attitude. Marta's voice is game is actually a little high (which cracks me up) but I "hear" her with a little bit of swagger.

I always thought Vita probably sounded very clipped, practical, cold.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Haha! Oh, here we are misinterpreting you, Chrysame. ^^ I get what you mean. Although, even their in-game sounds do kinda contribute to that, I think. I know with Meredith, her higher-pitched nasal voice coupled with her neurotic socials really show her personality. :D

It always made me chuckle how high Marta's voice was -- for some reason, I imagined her and Carolina's voice being swapped. ^^ It kinda changed the way I thought of them after I heard them.

I understand trying to comment in that situation, PiB. I think I may be slowing down how often I post soon, sorta for that reason. It's hard to get caught up when there's too much to read!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Opps, sorry Chrysame, I was on the wrong track.

Some Sims contribute well to having a tone of voice that would reflect their character. Marta should have a 'swagger', she's hot stuff with slightly sticky fingers and she knows it.

Vita - well, she has to be a pretty tough cookie to live with Nick. And deal with the aftermath he'd leave behind. Practical, cold and a bit ruthless herself.

Hey Kaleeko, just remember the golden rule of posting - it should be fun. When it's a chore and not fun, time to do something different. Which is actually why I changed the style of this blog, it was getting to the chore stage.

    ReplyDelete
  19. What PiB said. The whole point of posting is the fun factor. I go in spurts myself. Mostly due to real life obligations but also because I'm not always in the "mood".

I'm such an old roleplayer. I'm always referring to a character's (sims) voice or say that they're talking to me. Forgive me for not being clearer.

Another thing I do when I'm not feeling like posting? I just get back to the game and fun by playing a non-blogged game.

Right now, I'm squeezing in a little time for a new sim and her beau, Cyclone Sword. He gets pretty buff when you make him break up rock in a tomb.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I do love it when you are in the mood, Chrysame. Your posts are always fun to read.

I have to confess, I've been back a couple of times to your first bachlorette challenge. That was such a scream.

Would you believe that in spite of the number of blogs I have, I do still have some non-blogged and no longer blogged games? LOL Right now I visit Sam, Thomas and AJ from time to time...

Cyclone buff - man, that is such an odd idea.

  21. LoL, ya'll can hear my sims with a southern accent. Not one of those backwoods southern but South Carolina southern. I think my real voice surprises people because I'm so short and my voice is a little deep for a shorty. Or so I've been told by one of my sons.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Lived in North Carolina for a few years Dee, I know the accent. :)

Good news on the game front - last night I successfully got the Sims home in the Art Flows Through game - and Picasso scored an impressive *2* pink diamonds while he was collecting stuff using the collection helper. Johnny, Aliana and Catherine have moved to a new home. I'll do some pics and blogging tonight!

Stupid game - look at clock - 10:30 and I'm almost ready to shut down after two more things - look at clock - 11:30? How the heck did that happen?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I love and hate when that happens. It means you were having a blast. It also means an early morning will suck. Ah, the days when staying up until two or later and getting up the next day bright and early was no big deal.

Very happy to hear that your game went smoothly. Two pink diamonds? Dang, girl. I would have killed for one in my Marta/Wyatt game.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hehehe. Posting for me hasn't turned into a chore at all (yet), but, I don't want to overwhelm everyone with a new block of text to read every day just because I have the time to write it. ;)

Also -- I'll keep the voice in mind, Dee. ^^ I was actually surprised when I heard Carolina's voice. Basically, I was expecting Marta and Carolina's voices to be reversed! It was so cool to hear.

Glad to hear things are working out in the game, PiB! And yes... Time flies when you're having an obscene amount of fun. >:D

    ReplyDelete
  25. I can't even remember what Carolina or Marta sound like. :) I'm going to have to listen next time.

I know how good it feels to get things to work out and not lose all the time you put into it. I was very very happy when I started the Twinbrook game up and didn't have a toddler hanging in the living room.

If my work day went as fast as my sim play time, I would be jumping for joy. I stay busy but it still takes forever for quitting time to roll around some days.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hey Chrysame, I've been getting used to it. I used to go to bed earlier but it's been ages since I did with blogs/games/other computer stuff.

Picasso got incredibly lucky on this trip to France. Three rare finds, the pink diamonds and a super rare Rainbow Butterfly. I saved after each find!

@Kaleeko I love to read it every day. Gives me something to look forward to. :) Just can't comment as much, which could be a good thing.

@Dee - Hurray, no toddler in mid air!
